Any Sneakerheads In The House?

I was able to check out the Ferrari 14's in person.
Like the Toro Bravo 5's, the color is not as rich as media makes it out to be. In a way, I guess that makes it more wear-ready, but me personally I just didn't see myself really wearing the pair so I passed.

Speaking of those 5's, I never wore those out period.

Yea, I don't wear the Toro 5's much, but I love that I have them and enjoy the few times I do wear them. I never had the original in hand and the new ones have always been plenty vivid red for me. They are more towards a shelf queen. I did get rain sprinkles on them once and had to mink oil out the rain spots though. That's when they became more of a shelf queen, but I still wear them on nice days sometimes. 5's are my favorite to look at (and the Toro's are the best looking one in my opinion), but they are not always my favorite to wear. kinda puffy feeling on foot.

This is kinda why I'm on the fence about the grape 5's. Supposedly the shape was updated again, and slimmed down at the collar.

I might grab them if they're sitting on release day in store, but I want to keep space for the fire red/black tongue.

And I got a pair of Grape 5's.

The colorway, I'm only into for the sake of completing the OG collection, but how this is executed more faithful to the original release is like...everything.

The Fire Red/Silver Tongue retro from 2020 was the gold standard in my mind so far, and those still have the fiber board last while these don't; but as far as the exterior presentation of the shoe, these are it now.

Nike Air Max 90 x Patta

Last thing I need is another department to indulge into, but I haven't been able to enjoy the AM III Infrared retro because the materials/color could get messed up mad fast, and there's some pinching at the tongue. This handles both problems. Rare time it's not a basketball shoe, although it was worn in the NBA before.

Nike Air Tech Challenge II "Racer Pink"

This pickup was based mainly on being a practical value purchase as it seems stores are trying to offload the last of these.

My ATC II's from 2019/2020 tick all the boxes for me in being a practical everyday sneaker: fit, comfort, reliability, performance, aesthetic, and nostalgia. In the face of re-emerging premium/retro runner age, these would be of my peak personal choices as a general everyday pair.

The recent 2024/2025 retros run some panels in actual leather with a revised shape. A day in this pair, it seems it carries everything good about the previous retro, except the collar area where the padding has less volume. It might be a bit more accurate to the original, but the fuller version found in the previous retro feels better imo.
