Any Sneakerheads In The House?

Well… I picked up some Crocs Echo Lockdown. I never thought I’d pay $90 for a pair, but here I am. Facepalm.

I actually scooped up the orange pair a couple of weeks ago at Scheels for less than $50, including tax. There was a sign saying $49.99 and they rang up $55. The cashier thought I said $45 and the manager just told him to give it to me at that price.

I had some free time today and I went to the outlet and ended up getting the black/blue pair. I was probably caught up in the employee’s enthusiasm… he was amped to see me walking in there with the orange pair. I only leave the Crocs store with one pair because they don’t have a lot in size 13. Of course, it was the last one in my size (he could have been lying or not😂)

The last deal I bought was these Converse CTAS CX. They were $40; Converse outlet had a 40% off the clearance. Finding a clearance 13 shoe is a needle in the haystack and this gray/burgundy pair spoke to me. Converse is the one brand that I rarely pay MSRP.

Nike Air More Uptempo "Olympic"

Finally got a pair. It is what it is. Nothing particular standout about it for me apart from how it looks. Still a cool reminder of how shoes back then were design, and how play movement was also seemingly different.

LeBron IV "Graffiti" Retro

I liked this more than I expected. A mix of the flex channels, flat panels, and seemingly softer material, this feels as good as a Foam-posite based shoe can get. Solid buy at its depreciated value atm.

Adidas AE1 Low "Ascent"

The AE1 mid already had a really good formula for performance imo. This low fixes the whole putting on process, and that elevates the complete-ness of shoe's functionality. One of my favorites of the year, and crazy how it's one of the less expensive shoes at retail in the basketball performance segment.

Foamposite Royal (2024 Retro)

Blue pattern CF to better resemble the original ad, but Nike will Nike and still come up short on committing to a truly-accurate retro. Mesh is wrong, shape/height is wrong, believe outsole shouldn't be iced either.

But I'm here for it. The eyestay leather/nubuck is pretty nice regardless of accuracy. I might be having my Foams in rotation again. As every year of new, better-wearing shoes comes, these just feel worse. but....I end up buying them. I have to wear them.

KD4 "NERF" Retro

Mixed feeling between how crazy it is to be within reach....and how it's still awful to wear.

Kobe IV Protro "Gold Medal"

Never thought I'd see the day where being excited to wear another Kobe is kinda wearing off on me. I don't plan to sell, but I just really can't come to putting another perfectly new pair on when my previous pairs still need to be run to the ground.
