To be fair he could have gotten that authenticated at a lot of oakley stores.

I had advised him to take the glasses to a store selling Oakley glasses. He then said he was going to call Oakley right away.
5 min. later he said that someone at Oakley had confirmed the glasses to be real.
Anyone who has ever tried to call Oakley knows that it was a lie.
A fake call, really.
What people do or say to win an argument always amazes me.
