I am planning to overhaul my Juliet, change the temple and orbital screws along with the washers. As the title goes, is it safe to use WD-40 in cleaning the residues or should I use soap and water only?

I lube all my lenses with 20W50 ... repels all dust, water, oils, and women....
I use that to loosen up my nose bridge... noone likes their nose bridge stiff
