I would be more inclined to try MauiHT (High-Transmission)
No more grey base-tints for me. If I had to guess in-store though, I would have thought that Blue Hawaii was not grey base.
I was kind of shocked when I put them on outside & saw how neutral they are.

A bit too late, I blew my last shred of discount & rewards points to get them & there is no way to reverse all that.

I also cannot understand why MauiRose gets touted as one of the highest-contrast lens. I seriously do not SEE it that way.

Agree on the MauiRose..... I sold my pair, I was soooo disappointed with them.

Maui Green is a fantastic lense.

HT will probably disappoint you as well. Not really "contrasty" just yellow/green tint to brighten things up.

From what I understand, the only difference to Blue Hawaii is the color of the mirror.

I saw some Lava lens model on sale, but the cheap one is base curve six.
I like the Ho'okipa design, just not to Blue
Hawaii.

I got these at the Baijío dealer:

I've had both Blue Hawai Ultra and Maui Green Ultra......they have not got the same FOV.

The Maui Green has a Rose/Violet tinge to the FOV and the Blue Hawai was "trying" to have an Amber tinge.

In my opinion......the Maui Green is far more impressive/pleasing to look through.

(but we have already discovered that these things can be very subjective )

Yes....they both use Maui Gray base lense.....but the different colour mirror makes the FOV noticeably different.

A photo of the FOV on these does not help much, either.

I compared HCL Bronze from a pair of Sugar Beach & the Blue-Hawaii in the Ho'okipa right there in the store, it was the single last thing I did before saying: Box it Up, I am buying it!

The difference was minimal in that view, holding them up to a bright overhead fluorescent light.
The Blue-Hawaii looked a smidge cooler than HCL Bronze, but not at all grey.

turns out the 580 in there is the wavelength of the Yellow light they notch out with their filter, which is why my Yellow rainy-weather glasses make everything so clear, I suppose


M.J. are too pricey to be experimenting with, like I have done with many other brands.
at least for NEW pairs, but they are surprisingly cheap on the pre-owned market

I should be receiving a HCL Bronze set of Ho'okipa tomorrow, & the price was really great, probably because they have readers at the bottom of the lens.

In Europe....the "Ultra" version of the Ho'okipa can be had much cheaper than the rest of the range.

The blurb (well, SportRX anyway) claims that the Ultra version improves the "colour pop" by about 15% over the Pure lenses.

I bought both of my Ho'okipa Ultra for around €100 ($110 maybe)

Try a pair of Ho'okipa Ultra Maui Green....
I'll take the abuse like a man....if I'm wrong
