A couple of years back, my sister was learning how to snowboard- she was one of those people that hated wearing goggles whilst boarding (how stupid).
One glorious morning I forced her to wear my A-Frames (at least I think they were A-frames, either that or Crowbars) and later on she had a massive snowboarding accident.
Long story short, it involved a snowboard edge, her face being sliced open along the cheekbone, her cheek muscle popping out, lots of blood, airlifting to another city for plastic surgery etc.
Only thing that saved her eyesight were my Oakley goggles. Horrid experience, especially when you have to hold her face together with your bare hands...
Mine is very undramatic but due to my eye surgery I have to be very wary of sunlight and they have protected me in the harsh Aussie sun, gotta love iridium coating
