I have a friend trying to score one and he sent me this:
Now, my J24K and 24KX2 show no discoloration such as this. My friend says the frame is clean otherwise. The # is in the 200's. my friend called Oakley and they said they may have not passed QC, been 'burnt', or just not painted all the way - yes, painted - not plated.
My 24K's are a little duller on the inside of the intakes but they are still 'golden', just not as shinny, which in my experience is common. I have never seen any discoloration to this extent on a pair [of 24K's]
Has anyone seen this? If so did you find a root cause? Was it resolved?
I am going to see him tomorrow and compare mine with his, take some hi-res pics. More to come...
