They typically have great lenses but it’s a myth that they are the best. Ones made with 6 digits can even be darker. It’s a hit or miss.

I had a 7*** serial that had the same lens as the initial run. Also got a 5 digit one from @mjt42 with even better lens than my initial run ruby red

No mine unfortunately doesn't have the original ones. I bought a bunch of valve ruby red glasses looking for the darkest ruby. Then had Chris cut me the best ones I could find from this generation of ruby.
