I felt like an elitist snob reading your observation. When I'm out and about I try to see what other people are wearing. But in this desert, it is usually Ray Ban, or some knockoffs. Rarely see Oakley being worn. And yes, they are male. When I go to other places with Oakley stores nearby, I see a lot more Oakley (although, still mostly male). The ladies line leaves a lot to be desired, IMO.

One thing I like about being here... Almost no one has what I have (or they don't wear it). Love it when folks stare at the Oakley.

Same here and I felt elite wearing my Romeo's most of the weekend. This is the same pair an O-Store employee a few months back asked me what brand they were :behindsofa:

Was out and about this past weekend quite a bit in situations where people had their sunnies on so I started taking note of what was being worn.

All in all from what I could tell sunglass wearing was around the 70% mark- of those I could confirm about 1% was Oakley the wearers of which were exclusively male. Models were the usual suspects- a couple Flak Jackets, couple Fuel Cells, a Fives Squared, a few Gascans.

Overall color combos on the O’s were the usual suspects as well- monotone black on black. Non Oakley glasses were more likely to be colorful (although I’d say only about 2% of what I saw was something other than monotone black/black) with the dominant style being of the wayfarer variety (I’ll keep my opinion of this style to myself LOL).

In short….the weekend was a larger sample size than everyday but it reinforced the patterns I see in everyday interactions.
I've been saying it for a long time now - nobody outside of Oakley Forum gives more than half an ounce of bull terrier sh1t about Oakleys hahaha !!!

And if they got them, they got them because "it's baseball season and I needed some cheap black on black glasses from Academy"...

I'm in a city with almost 6 million people and I have collectively seen 1 pair of Juliets in the wild...

There are only 3 or 4 Actuve Houstonions on this forum - think about it - 6 million people in the Houston Metroplex and 5 people (tops) post on this forum lol...

@Litos my non-scientific observations support your first two statements above. They don't care or got a lifestyle pair cheap. Most people fall into the "How much"???!!! category anyway so why bother.

Using your numbers puts you in a .0008 percentile of Oakley enthusiast posters in the Houston Metro.

Which makes you pretty damn cool, bro. ;)

I'm gonna marry you one day if you keep it up...

While cracking up over Starbucks calling me Kront, I received a sales call from "Wyndham Trips".

Well, I find out some things:
  1. Telemarketing isn't completely dead; dwindling, yes, but not dead. LOL. The new breed of telemarketer isn't as pushy like the old school types (I used to work for one of these outfits). The old school folks were trained to let the call go after 3 objections; the new breed gave up after I told him I am too poor (he told me upfront the conditons, single person should make $60K, or be married)... I don't think I have had a call ended so quickly.
  2. Did some digging later and found out that I'd have to sit through a 2 hour presentation to get a deal. WTF?!?!?! Time is valuable; I don't mind some hoops, but sheesh. I probably woud have pissed off the sales reps since I would have cried poverty throughout the thing.
  3. Timeshares still exist?!?!?!! Well, if they are useful, have at it, I guess
I'm actually half tempted to go to one of these things just to score some deals, but I am not that patient. People have actually endured these hard sales pushes, it is like some sport or something. WOW.

Also, I need for the companies to do better research, some guy who stayed in a cut rate room isn't likely going to blow extra hundreds or thousands in a luxurious room or timeshare.... that is a riot.

@QLR1 HA! Good for you, Q! Tell them anything politely and they'll let go. My brother told one who called my mom's house during a get-together we were having "You sure can tell me all about your unique vacation opportunities, ma'am, let me get a pen and paper so I don't miss anything! But before you get started I'd like to take a few minutes of your time and tell you about the relief I felt when I dedicated my soul to my lord Satan, dark ruler of Hell and soon mighty conqueror of this ****-pit we call earth. Be right back"!!!
He put the phone down and counted to ten and she was gone when he picked it back up. Good times.

And I'm with you on the time thing too... can't sit through a 2 hour talk with family at a picnic...no way I could go half as long in a room full of strangers I can't stand.

...but that might be just me.
