Regarding work-

Came in 30mins early to chat with the head of the department, the guy I emailed. Overall the meeting was very positive and constructive, with him agreeing with my points and giving me more information than I'm usually privy to regarding others. The one point he made was that he was angry I used absolute terms that I wouldn't do what was being scheduled. My response was that it wasn't a bluff and I knew going in that I could be fired over a refusal like that. I had to hedge my bet on my own worth, and in the end it proved successful.

I believe everyone is replaceable.but it could take 10 years.or you might not be the one who finds them .Ive been at my job 15 years and seen hundreds of workers come and go,I can count the good workers on one hand .

Yeah, but it is better (and easier ?) to keep a good worker than deal with turnover.

That was as nice as I could be about it. I don't go out of my way to be a **** to people, I usually get out of their way and let them fail on their own. I couldn't let this one go.

It is better watching idiots fail, but ultimately, I felt you did the right thing.
