I mean very true. Over time items will become more desirable and everyone will look back at how innovated or cool they were. It's the Star Wars ideology as well. Prequals were garbage, Hayden was a horrible choice for Darth Vader. Fast forward 20 years and everyone says that they were some of the best movies (I don't think that's going to happen with 7,8,9 though)

There are plenty of bad products Lux has put out that are garbage (See CMDN) and have no thought given to them. (but these are not one of them. If the beak couldn't be removed, then maybe that's a deal breaker for most. But for this one they seem to have really put some thought into it to make it different and eye catching for a lot of people.
