Replacement lense prices are insane

I went to a local Oakley store and they told me that replacement lenses for Frogskins are between $80 and $110. These aren't great quality lenses, which is precisely why they need to be replaced in the first place! I have several pairs where the coating has began to flake off the lenses (noted in my collection).

I never buy lenses direct from Oakley... Go to ebay and you will find allot of lenses for sale. There will be allot of aftermarket as well so read description and make sure they are OEM. I find lenses for as low as $30 brand new but average is $50-$60.

You can buy complete new pairs for that price range on certain authorized distributors. The official parts site has lenses cheaper as well depending on what frame lens you looking at replacing. The other thing, is Oakley usually 2-3x a year will do at sale where replacement lenses are 30% off. You just missed the most recent one they do every year before Christmas.

Lens quality plays a key role in protecting your eyes and ensuring clear vision. If you have pairs that have begun to peel, replacing your lenses may be a wise investment, especially if you use them extensively for sports or other outdoor activities. Purchasing original replacement lenses from the manufacturer usually guarantees compatibility and quality.
Which manufacturer are you talking about, oh all knowing bot?

I never buy at retail. Ever, otherwise I’d never be able to afford half the **** I have! On another note, all lenses delaminate, period. I’ve seen it in arnette, Oliver people’s, ray ban, and aftermarket suppliers like galaxy and revant. Some super fast, in fact I have pairs with affordable aftermarket lenses specifically for oily, dirty jobs. I have a buddy who shocks his pool so often that I wear one of those pair to his pool parties, cause nothing will delaminate a lense worse than oils and oxidizerslike chlorine. As a chemical blending specialist for a plastics company I see 3m safety glasses delaminating after over 48 hours of exposure to certain chemical oxidizers.
