Repurpose prescription lenses

I have two pairs of genuine Oakley prescription lenses (as denoted by the "O" on the lenses). One pair came from a NSJ and the other came from an XX Twenty. I went to my local eye doctor and they measured the index of each lens. I was initially planning on selling them, but I doubt I'll be able to move them.

Does anybody have recommendations for what I can do with these? According to Google AI, I can repurpose them by (1) donating to charity and (2) using the material for arts and crafts.

Are these lenses seen as collector items because they are genuine from Oakley?

Honestly, there's no real value in them for frames like that. Ive seen some charities that take full description pairs, but not just lenses. It might be worth researching though.

Unfortunetly, unless the person buying them has the same prescription and pupil location, they won't be much good, unless they dont care about their vision.

The only time I could see leaving them in a frame is if I planned on them being a display peice and the lenses were cool. Like some kind of rare lense color or if it was something like the older shield lenses or Subzeros that would come with one color lens carrier and another color lens. That would be just because of the rarity, the cool factor and the fact you'd never get them out without destroying them.

Ok! Thank you MicahS. Into a random box in the back of the closet it goes.

I remember way back when I joined 2010/2011, I believe it was @SiRacer420 , or @Nortika ;

I had purchased a pair of electric blue XX Twenty’s and they had OEM RX ice lenses in them (almost perfect). I forgot what exactly we did. I think I was gonna toss them, and he offered Oakley stickers or something, don’t recall exactly. I do remember him hoping they’d work for him or his gal’s RX.

Thank you for the info! I don’t know how active SiRacer is anymore because I haven’t seen him around, but I know Nortika is.

@Nortika if you’re reading this - interested in the lenses? Just pay for shipping and they’re yours.
