I don't know about you guys, but this seems like a lot of work over potentially nothing.
I sold about $2k last year online, and my tax guy, who I'm already paying a few hundred for my regular taxes, was able to write off my online sales as a wash, because it was, and I assume the same is for most of you unless you're making ridiculous profits, which unfortunately yes, you would have to pay taxes.
I already paid taxes on what I bought, so when I sell it years later, mostly less than what I bought it for, I don't owe taxes again; I already paid it.
As long as you're not taking a piss, you're likely fine on your taxes.
F&F should be an optional gamble, but people shouldn't be shamed for G&S, especially after the Dragonvoi debacle. As a seller, sometimes it's simply the cost of business.
