Safe trading from Reddit

Hello everyone!

I’m planning to do a trade with someone on Reddit, and I’d really appreciate your advice on how to go about it safely. I'm assuming that we are in different countries, so meeting up in person isn’t possible, and we’ll have to ship the items. This would be my first trade done remotely, so I want to make sure everything is handled properly and reduce any risk of getting scammed.

How do you do people here do the trade? Who should ship first, or is there a fair way to do it?

No where is safe. Nothing is guaranteed. Some members have used a third person to receive the money and item then shipped them both to each party. But that involves more risk and more effort on both ends. (No I don't work for the cartel DEA). You could always meet up in person, but bring someone with you and tell your entire family where you are going including a time frame. Good luck and becareful.

What’s your opinion? would you trade a complete set of Juliet Ichiro / Emerald Slate (box, coin, matching serials) for an Eye Jacket X Silver / Prizm Road? I already got advice from one of the veterans here and he said no way—Ichiro is much more valuable. I thought so too, but I guess my bias is blinding me toward accepting the trade, just because I really want the Eye Jacket.
Honestly, I think the reason I bought the Ichiro in the first place was because I got so excited at the start of the hobby that I wanted to get them all. So now I’m thinking of just getting what I really need not because of cheap offers or whatever. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again.

The safest way I know of is for each of you to send each other an agreed amount (the value of each item) on paypal, and just purchase the items from each other. Basically paying the 4% paypal fee for the coverage. If anything goes wrong receiving you at least can get the money back that the item was valued.

Of course! I've done a lot of buying and selling on other forums and yeah trading always has its risks. It's easier to work with people who are reputable on the forums but still things can happen and this method seems to offer the most protection overall. Also if the person is willing to put up the money for the item's value and pay that 4% for the protection, and basically meet your terms, the odds are better that they don't have ill intentions.

Hell no keep your Ichiros. Not only are they rare, those blue rubbers are expensive. They hold up in value compared to regular juliets. Even better if you have a complete set.

Not sure what those Eye jackets go for, but ichiros are easily worth more.

What I have though is the one with green rubbers, Polished Juliet with Emerald Slate lenses. not sure if they’re considered less valuable than the one with Blue Iridium version, but still, it’s a complete set with matching serials so it must have some weight.
