A late arrival to the Crater Wrapping party! Can’t say I’d have grabbed this, but my fellow Lopaka, @Lopaka KaMars said he likes blue. This what I would call “Sapphire Blue” in person. It’s almost impossible to take a pic of stingray due to these nodules on their skin. Beautiful stuff though! Perfect thickness for Crater Wrapping.
Interestingly, it’s called the most unforgiving of exotics…and I can see why. But I got it on a Crater nose bridge so…more colors are in bound!

Never fear…on the up side, I probably am going to have “more” Crater Wrapping time over the next few weeks
…and I would say well deserved! Better take them out on the town now and again. Weren’t meant to live on a shelf. One takes a hit you know where it came from
I hit another one of my exotic leather contacts today…desert sand Lizard, tan Ostrich, and LOTS of colors of Stingray. Even got a seriously thin veg-tan leather (which could be dyed or stamped). All of these have possibilities for Crater wraps…among other things.
My personal favorite was a burnt orange/cognac/tobacco Stingray. Liked it so much I got three hides. Just looked like the color of the planet Mars to me!

After a month of travel and almost a week of the creeping crud on return it’s been slow getting back to the Lab. Soon…very soon
A little something different from the Mad Labs today. Been wanting a wall mounted X-Metal stand for ages…recently acquired an “actual” desktop version…soooo had it on hand for measurements and partial “Replication.”
Concept…then half hour of modeling…then four hours of printing!

He’s at it again…finally
Decided to swap a few things around. Snipped the croc nose bridge off and pulled the black rubbers of Crater 1 and going to put em on Crater 2. Given its 3-digit serial I guess I’ll use it for my “stock” X-Metal pair.
Crater 1 is heading to @THE X-MAN for refinishing in Cerakote H-268 Troy Coyote. Already got in Linegear (Dang! The ship fast!) Brown Rubber and Polarized Gold lenses.
Done! That makes a whopping total of three (or is that four now?) nose bridges sewn on! I used the X-Metal grey thread this time.
Did break one saddle harness needle. Seems some are slightly thicker than others…hmm.
With luck I’ll cut out the croc side wings this afternoon
