The Video Games Thread

Luckily i still have my original copy of FFVII and my backwards compatible ps2. I love how the mini systems are getting a new generation into the older games but I'm a pack rat so I still have my og NES, SNES, Genesis/32x/CD, N64, ps2, GameCube...so I'm set already!
I still have my original copy, half a dozen PS1s and about the same number of PS2s I could play it on, plus a PSP Go that only has VII, VIII and IX on. I still wanted to buy a Classic too!

I still have no problem with all the bad guys lining up on one side, all the good guys on the other and then taking turns to hit each other. ;)

Of the numbered FFs (that aren’t MMOs), the only ones I haven’t finished are XIII-3 and XV, because they don’t really play out like RPGs.

Never played XIII, and I never got around to finishing XII. I should though now that the remaster is on steam.

Nothing wrong with a well spec'ed budget rig. That 1060 6gb still has plenty left in the tank for today's games and the i5 is a good processor that shouldn't bottleneck at all with that card. Keep on dreaming for HL3, I've been waiting since the end of HL2 ep2....

I'm finally upgrading my hodgepodge rig this Christmas with a real gaming platform. i7 8700, 16gb RAM, 256gb SSD with a 2tb HDD +another 1tb HDD. And got this bad boy to put in it, like you not the Ferrari level with i7 8700k and 1080ti, but why pay $500-700 more for an extra 5-10fps on most benchmarks?

That's nice. You should be set for quite a while. I agree the extra $ for little return up front is not worth it. Okay maybe that system last longer as newer games come out.

The system we got for my son we can probably OC saftely 10-15% and squeak out a few extra FPS. I've been out of the OC'ing and PC building game for a while. His friends dad is helping us as their whole family is into gaming.
