The X-MAN Customs Corner

Do they have a their own thread just like this? I wanna check out their works and prices. Thanks for the replies

I found them from this thread

http://www.oakleyforum.com/threads/cutting-lenses-what-works.12332/

if you have an idea what lens you want that isn't offered in the Juliets, you can check the lens cutting chart and ask one of the guys to cut it for you. you'll have to ask them about prices and as for their work, its pretty straight forward, the optics won't be exact compared to OEM juliet lenses but pretty close.

I'm pretty content with the custom cuts for specific frames...due to the variety of colors I want...they only use Oakley donor lens...Ex: Violet Ird Polar Juliet cut came from Big Taco lens..

Does infinitehero have a website just like the x-man??

I think he is building one but it's not up yet; yeah PM him.

xmetalmaniac has his own sticky right next to this one, the mad science lounge:

For IH, aside from the cutting lens thread, check out the x-metal exchange - he posts a lot of lenses for sale there, you can see plenty of examples. Also, check out this post from him, best reason to do custom cuts instead of aftermarket:

For both you have to PM to get prices; they're not publicly posted.

I have to disagree with that. The whole point of getting custom cuts instead of aftermarkets is because, since they are cut from OEM donors, the optics are the same as the originals. Also, both IH & XMM ensure the polarization orientation is the same as the originals.

What may differ is the look. Many iridiums blend to different colors around the edges, and those might get cut out, depending on the donor. Sometimes that's a good thing, such as custom cutting "fruby"s can get rid of a lot of the fire and make them more ruby. You also may lose the etching, if any, depending on the cut and who's doing it.

But the optics are exactly the same.

Why would people want to have lenses that are not fit for the model? Why cant they just get exact lenses for the exact model of their oakley?
