I heard a winder keeps the movements from freezing, but I am no expert. Yeah, that's true, I do miss my automatic watches though!

@nicosauve1 is right. never put your automatic watches on a winder as it will put too much stress on the spring/mechanism. the only advantage of having a winder is the convenience.

You can never over wound a top quality swiss automatic especially omegas or rolexes. Plus if you can purchase a 5k up watches what is a couple hundred for a winder....
