I think he has quite a prominent wrist bone, which exaggerates it. But I always wear a watch either over my wrist bone or ahead of it (i.e. closer to my hand) - to my mind it looks weird behind the bone on the forearm. Relatively few watches have crown guards and I’ve never had an issue with the crown or pushers digging in uncomfortably. Different strokes for different folks!

I’d say that’s a shade further back - my wrist bone is under the strap and top left of the case. Pusher’s digging in a bit bottom right but isn’t uncomfortable.

Yes, Panerai’s a different case (in both senses of the word!). I have a number of Calibre 11/12/15 Heuers with the crown on the left and that’s never been a problem comfort-wise either.
