Watches (other than Oakley) You're Wearing Today

It did indeed! Less than a month between buying a Moonswatch and the actual Moonwatch. If you have Mars, does that mean you have to buy an Alaska Project Speedy?! I do fancy the Mars but then an Alaska Project is on my wishlist too…
Haha, I like crazy watches but I think the Alaska Project is a little out there for me.

The watch collection now:

I picked up my Speedy in Aruba in 2019. Love it. The Reduced I bought 2003 in the UK prior to moving to the US. Been serviced once about 4 years ago. I wore it almost exclusively for 10 years until I got my SeaMaster GMT. Collection went a bit crazy after that! I would love the Digital Speedmaster! I picked up a 1973 LCD Quartz Omega in 2020 for $345

I have the full set of the Heuer Carrera LCDs from the late 70s (which I should get new batteries for at some point). Those ran me from £221 for the black dial to £265 for the gold-plated one. Probably more nowadays and they’re not easy to find - all of mine came from either Germany or Austria, so seem to have been the biggest hit with German speakers for some reason. They cost as much as the automatic movement equivalents back when they were new, none of the feeling of quartz being the cheaper alternative to mechanical back then!

There are a few LCD Speedmasters, including some in cases similar to that, but it’s the one in a Professional case that appeals to me. Unfortunately the one that goes for the most!
I know it, thank is the one I wanted, but prices are a little to much for my liking. I was searching several years ago. Too much of a want versus need to spend $2k on, $5k is just scalping!

Not to mention the Alaska Project IV prototypes, which is the same watch without the “Light” text but with tritium tubes and goes for an even more pretty penny! I can go and buy a Canopus Speedy with white gold case and bracelet and still have change from that! Even with rock solid provenance from NASA and Omega, I wouldn’t pay that much…
