I should Work at Oakley
decided to try and fit better speakers in the doors that match the ones i have in the rear (JL Audio C2 series) since i found an open box item pair on amazon for half price. they were supposed to not fit due to mounting depth. i said F it i'll make them work somehow. i used a half inch spacer behind them so the magnet would clear the window track. spacing them off the door meant i had to dremel off some unimportant plastic tabs in the plastic door panel to make them fit. it worked and they just clear. i also added a square foot of sound deadener in each door while i was in there this time. it sounds sooo much better now. i should have done these in the doors first place, but i was afraid of the mounting depth not working.
Old vs new. look at the size difference in that magnet. new ones are massive.
