What Are You Driving ?

New Car. Shame its a work car, but its uber comfy and decked out well inside for a work car. My first new car aswell.

Buying this in the next day or two. Probably need to sell some pairs and stop spending until my bank account recovers from the down payments.

6 speed, '09 with 19k miles, black with white roof/mirrors/stripes

This surprises me. I so couldn't see you matched to this car.

But then perhaps that's just conditioning in the UK, where the new Mini is seen as a girl's car.
Oh, and estate agents too.

Sorry man.
Pleeeease buy another car.

I love my BMWs.
I like to keep my cars pretty much stock, except the sound system of course.

So it's a 330 sport. Estoril Blue. SMG (flappy paddle gearbox), straight six engine, 3 litre, 231 bhp, 227 lb-ft torque, and 0-60mph comes up about 6 seconds.
Not sports/super car fast. But then it's not a sports/super car.

And hey, I love it. And, at the end of the day, that's what matters.

Exactly! I love Alfa Romeos :p my Mito really surprises folk (usually the BMW driver that's right up my backside when going round a roundabout) it's got a 1.4litre engine, 6 gears, turbo and 170bhp :D Pocket rocket very much!

The Mini is technically a BMW as well. The standard Cooper is a bit of a chick car, but the S is not so much. Especially with a 6 speed, you don't have many people, and less women especially, driving manuals in the US.

It's impractical, a bit of an imposition, but damn is it fun to drive. This is the first car I've bought for myself, and what I wanted was a small, fun car that fits me, gets good gas mileage, and yet is a hoot to drive. I wasn't left with many cars in my price range, and to hell with what anyone thinks.

We have a TERRIBLE selection of small cars in the US. Most are economy-centric that they still slap 4 doors on and I don't fit in any of them. I probably sat in or drove 20-30 cars trying to decide what was next. VW was a contender for a while, but the seat in the Jetta GLi didn't fit right, and the newest Beetle Turbo was too much money and didn't drive like it was made for the power it had, understeer and electronic intervention at every turn, and not a lot of balls in a straight line. Ford Mustang was alright, but felt cheap and not very comfortable. Not a lot more fit what I was looking for. A used BMW 3 series or Audi A3/A4 was twice as much as the Mini to insure.

Same as my Mini S pretty much. 6 speed, 170hp turbo in a little car.
