You should go to @The Proprietary Molecule necl of the woods. You’ll find all sorts of Amish there.

No interest in eating Amish food. WAY too bland.

Probably virtually impossible West of Ohio. PM me and I’ll see what I can do about sorting out a mini care package for ya. Maybe some of the fun small non-perishable stuff. @Lopaka KaMars can vouch for the taste and value of Amish Springele Cookies 😉🍪👍

I have an Amish customer in western Indiana and visit them a couple of times per year.

There's a huge Amish settlement in Park County, Indiana.

Large numbers of Amish in Iowa as well.

Plenty of eating establishments west of Ohio.

Yup....now that you mention it...true. I had forgotten the Indiana Amish enclaves I'd seen... I have not run into any passing thru Iowa (but that sure don't mean they don't exist). Though I did in Centeral America if you can believe it! Someone once told me if you can find reasonably priced farming land you'll find Amish and Mennonite folks tending to it.

When I retired and we first moved to Amishlandia, PA it was kinda a free for all food wise. I'd spent the previous almost 22 years watching what I ate, doing PT daily, and getting weighed twice a year...the military life. So when I saw all that fattening and bad for ya food...was natural to eat every type I could and as often as possible :p. I agree with you on the whole...it can be bland...but ham and/or bacon and/or chicken with enough gravy still works out somehow taste wise! Really the desserts are what are truly dangerous in my opinion. The pies and cookies....

Course over the ensuing 5-10 years or so I gained something on the order of 85 pounds. Wahoo....about five years ago I woke up one morning and said what the heck did I do to myself? Went back into training and lost all 85 pounds. Kept it off since....most of it 😏

While I stay away from Amish and PA Dutch food in general due to calories...I still enjoy a piece of shoofly pie or a whoopie pie...or a springerle cookie now and again 🪖👍
