i've been wearing my R1 for several years and never had a single set of my custom cut lenses crack for myself or my customers.

i personally have a big noggin' and I just put them on straight from the front by spreading the arms out wide.

FYI cracking lenses isn't a phenomena to just R1. It's a widely known issue for all ophthalmic lens labs in the industry and there's a proper way to cut/grind lenses that significantly minimize stress cracks by distributing tension more evenly across the lens than other methods of cutting.

Loosening the screws also helps. It relieves tension on the lense.
