When will lenses (and frames) start getting smaller?

Is it like skirt lengths and tie widths? I know bigger lenses mean better visibility so not expecting a return to, say OO or E Wire, and sport/cycling are their own thing. But personally I think lenses on most general-use models are now too big… though, who doesn’t like rocking the Sleestak?
