Where Did Your Forum User Name Come From?

Very cool thread. I'm glad someone brought this one back to life. Some really interesting origins.

Back in my video game days some work friends and I started a QUAKE LAN Party.

Creativity was never my forte, but there was no way I could be "Player X" which is what the Quake game would give you as a default.

I always liked looking at stars. I always thought the belt of Orion the Hunter was cool as it was one of the constellations that always stood out to me.

So....video game where the object is to hunt people down and take them out.....name associated with hunting........Orion it is.

I've used that name for other identifications ebay, call sign for airsoft, and a few other places.

No one outside this forum would ever associate my real name with "Orion"

My parents originally came from Malaysia.

"Cacat" comes from a derogatory term my sister-in-law gave me when I made her cry.

She had come to visit her sister (my wife) and I, in Australia and while I was in the lounge, I thought it would be quite funny to chuck a pair of boxer shorts like at her head.

I executed a frisbee motion, and to her (and my) great surprise, it crossed my lounge room and landed perfectly on top of her head like a hat and covered her eyes. In fact she did not even move her head to get out the way for some unbeknown reason.

I wish I had filmed it. It was quite amazing.

She promptly burst into tears and screamed at the top of her voice, "You're so 'cacat'!!!"

In Malay, it means "handicapped" or "spastic".

I wish that was the worst thing I ever did to a relative....

Needless to say, the name stuck.

When I first met my fiancé we were 15, she had to leave from her uncles which put her 4 states away, I had to download skype so we could video call and I was very in tech savy. Somehow my region was set to Zimbabwe and the first thing she called me in our first call was jimbobwe, needless to say, I love the name. My rant is done

I used to climb things at work instead of getting up on a ladder. once we were installing an adventure playground and i climbed up on the top beam of a piece of equipment wile my Foreman went to get a ladder. He came back and saw me up there bolting the ropework on and was like "what are you a man or a monkey?"

That makes it easier now for me. I kept on typing "anoramonkey" in the top 20 sellers list. Now it makes sense!!!!
