I’m in my late 20’s and the only x metal I’ve seen in Chicago was on the head of my students father. Was a nice little side convo outside of her grades haha.

I was pretty late to Oakley though. Discovered them in 2010 when looking for an Asian Fit pair haha

35, and I've only seen 1 other person with a pair of Juliets on. He works with me and is in his late twenties. They're his daily pair like my X-metal are mine.

I’m 42 and I’ve seen several people wearing Juliets and a guy wearing an XS here in TX. And saw a guy on a subway in New York wearing a Juliet. They’re out there though I’ve never come across anyone wearing a C-Six in the wild.

Right now I’m 46 and I bought my first x metal back in 2001 which was a penny! I never seen anyone with an xmetal even back in the day! Even now only people I’ve seen with an x metal is someone working at the o vault or someone I’ve met on the forum.

Just turned 39 this past November. I first learned of xmetals back in 2013 when my co worker wore a pair of plasma ice Juliet’s to the office.

I found my first pair off craigslist, joined the forum and the rest is history.

A better question is, with the “median” age of xmetal enthusiasts being the mid 30s, how are new people gaining interest in xmetals these days?

I mean these are no longer in stores and it’s a given that most of us members don’t even see other people wearing them in public. How exactly do new members keep joining the forum?

Late 20's here and have 4 metals in rotation, currently. I've had Oakleys off and on since about 2004, but didn't get the full appreciation until college, and certainly thereafter, when I could swing for more of a collection, as opposed to just the daily pair.
Being later to the X-Metal game, the draw was their uniqueness, durability, quality, and fantastic fit. The other styles just don't stack up anymore. I didn't truly realize what I had tried on at the Vaults those many times not being able to accept the price for metal "heavy" glasses. I shake my head at that kid knowing what I've learned here...

Juliets seem common on this forum, but never seen another one in person. Only seen one XS being worn by some ecstatic looking dad (mid 30's) at a zip line park. He was more thrilled when I gave props for his metals than he was having to watch his kid.

40 here and never have seen anyone wearing any X-metal. Just got my first pair over Christmas and now have a 2nd pair and even my Vault here hasn't seen any of the X-metal wondering around.
I do get asked a lot especially when going to the Vault by other Oakley enthusiasts about them and I've always been open to letting them try them on if they are interested.
