Oakley Socket ti ear pieces

Does anyone know if you can bend down the earpieces on the socket ti's? Love the new glasses the ear pieces stick back to far when I am wearing a ballcap though. I end up having to put the earpieces over my hat because they stick past where my hat rides on my head.

I would never advise bending stems that are intended to be straight.
