How to Tell If Your Sunglasses Are Polarized?



If you’re trying to determine if your sunglasses or lenses are polarized, we’ve got you covered. Plus these tips will work for any brand of sunglasses not just Oakleys.



1. Polarized Lens Sticker



For Oakley’s, Ray-Bans, and many of the big Luxottica brands, you may find a polarized sticker on your lenses when you buy them. If you’ve had your sunglasses a while, there may be no sticker. But instead, you may find a “P” or “Polarized” etched onto the lens. This is a great sign that your lenses are probably polarized.

This is why you’re not allowed to have polarized lenses on in the cockpit of an airplane. Could interfere with traffic sighting and wash out the radios or some digital instruments.

Interesting, had no idea that was a rule but makes sense!
