Been working on this project for a few weeks now and finally got it figured out. I’ve done lots of resin casting in the past, but no rubber so this was new.
Making the mold is fairly simple, but with modern tools, easier than it’s been in the past. Typically to create a mold you have to create a “master” then use that to create your negative mold, then make your new ones from that. Using CAD and 3D printing, we can skip some of those steps and just 3D print a negative mold right from the get go.
Here’s the results!
I think I could use this same method to create TB2 bands with the correct internal geometry. Might be my next try.
