No worries. I'm too far descended down from the Vikings to actually do something like that. The neighbors are safe
Anyway, I'll use a hand held torch and see what happens. I'm trying for a progressively more and more "heat distressed" look going towards the orbitals by directing the flame from front to back.
Hopefully they'll look like "post reentry"
into the atmosphere if you can picture what I mean

I must be insane but seriously I'm looking forward to trying it too.
I'm just wondering if I need to bother removing those little washers in the hinges first ? I would guess no need. It needs new ones anyway.

take out the washers,it will be less to scrape out and damage the burnt finish,either way we may have to install new rivits to get at the bridge rubber
