Burned Juliets

I wouldn't do this to a serial pair that's for sure.
I have to admit I still have a bit of "should I do it or should I not do it ?"
going on in my mind.
What's the worst that can happen though ? If it ends up looking like hell I can get it blasted and have a hammer stem xmetal finish Juliet which wouldn't be so bad.

I started :)
With a few quick passes of a few seconds each I used an Oxy Acetylene torch and transformed the polished finish forever :)
I decided to stop and assess part way through before continuing. Below are the pics of how they look now. The heat first turned the finish to a gold/copper color then purple then blue. You'll notice in the pics that the frame is now a mottled mix of all four colors.
I can leave it like this or continue tomorrow with more heat until the front of the frames turn all blue or some other color after blue. That remains to be seen which color. Maybe black or dark brown ???
I'm inclined to go further on these but I just wanted to stop and share a few pics of the process so far.

Yeah I didn't shave today I know
whatever :)

I have to say that looks pretty cool... but at the same time it's more of a rainbow effect than post-apocalypse... Can't say whether you should stick with that or go further...

What if we call it a post apocalyptic rainbow ? :)
(Not that there's anything wrong with that ;) )
JK
I'll more than likely go further with these.

thats amazing! i would have liked to have seen them placed in a bonfire for a couple of hours to see an effect more like the ones that started this thread but kudos to you for what you are doing to entertain us!!
just a word of warning; dont forget to let them cool down before trying them on!!!! lol.

Oh yeah, liking that, especially the blued parts. In fact, I like it more than the burnt ones...

That's an interesting finish my friend, and I mean that in a good way!
