cheaper lens category: Walleva , Vonxyz, LensLog/PapaViva

I got mine on Amazon, so was easily returned.
Made that order to AhaBac this morning for another Sky-Blue & Jade-Green.

Time to start filling up those Soft-Vault Array cases I have for the Flak 2, each case holds two spare sets of lenses, & I have three of those cases.

I noticed some tiny mirror finish blemishes on those Cobalt-Rose I got from Vonxyz last night.
They will not wash out, but thankfully they are not in my line of sight.

Sometimes I put on my 4x reading glasses to clean a lens & find surprises.

Just found them on AliExpress....

Jade Polarised Holbrook ordered.
I hope the FOV is as "violet" as it is in your photo View attachment 1347125
So....the Vonxyz lenses showed up.

They "feel like" how much they cost....and I almost gave up trying to get them into the frame.

I would think twice before purchasing from them again.

But.....

I LOVE the FOV!!!

One thing about AhaBac, they send very plain lens cloth, they are various colors, but no brand on them.
I like that, as I can include them with pairs I sell.

My theory that the source for AhaBac & Vonxyz is not quite correct, but I am at a loss to explain why they are using the same photos on the stores. Perhaps one of them borrowed the photos of the other.

I have received four different pairs of AhaBac in the past week.
from left-right, top-bottom:
violet purple , violet-red
sky blue, jade green

they have two reds: Red-Orange, & Violet-Red, but not just plain RED or Fire Red
they also have a Violet-Blue

I enjoy that these are dirt-cheap, but I will stick to paying more for Vonxyz.
Asking them questions is almost a non-starter, they do not seem to really know what the base-tints are for them, except for a couple.

Initially I asked about Sky Blue, they responded it was Grey, but seeing as how the images were the same as Vonxyz, I gambled & got Amber.

When I told them this, they responded as if they knew it was Amber all along, LMAO!

If you do buy, & prefer non-grey, stick with green & blue.
or take the gamble & order Violet-Blue or Red-Orange

What about the distortion on these lenses? Most of these wafer-thin base tier lenses tend to have headache-inducing wavy irregularities in the optical plane, which is why I have started avoiding these and now stick to Polycarbonate lenses only.

There is something I can't quiet put my finger on with the VonXyz lens...... I find myself constantly trying to clean it.....as if it needs to be cleaned.
I also think that the frame will be stretched....it was so difficult to force the lens in (a genuine 9102 lens will be too loose now.....which has happened me before with 2 MRY Lenses)

I'm enjoying the lens so much that I might just put up with the imaginary "cloudiness"

They did seem wafer thin.....even compared to the MRY lenses that I took out of the host frame.

I also "suspect" that the polarisation is Blue on them......in the same weird way that it's Red on the MRY Cobalt/Rose

all the ones I have checked thus far Polarized to black

I believe AhaBac & Vonxyz both are making PolyC lenses, but Walleva definitely makes some that are Triacetate.

Here is PolyC on an AhaBac description:

same for Vonxyz:

Vonxyz-PolyC

I have not had any headache-inducing discomfort, but with the PapaViva lens the reflection on the back of it drove me slightly mad, as you comment, it seemed like it ALWAYS needed to be cleaned,

but I also have a pair of Maui-Jim Ho'okipa with the Maui-Brilliant (Urethane) lens & those also feel like they constantly need to be cleaned, but perhaps because the lens is physically too close to my eyeball

Ho'okipa with Maui-Pure (PolyC) was the only expensive sunglass that give me serious eye-fatigue, so I think it might be the geometry of the Ho'okipa design

another but,
The Maui-Rose Ho'okipa in Maui-Pure have been fine, it was the Blue-Hawaii & Maui-Sunrise that just made me want to take those glasses off

Those two particular vendors are about as low as I will go.

Saucer is out
Smart-VLT - out
Walleva - also done
there are many out there, & most have just plain grey base-tint

The funny thing is AhaBac tell me the Red & Purple are grey base-tint, & although they are not great, they are still better than grey.

That Violet-Red above reminds me very much of the Emerald-Green I got from MRY.
& weirdly enough I actually prefer it over Fuse-AMP Nova, which I tried wearing again today

The Fuse-AMP Nova is a blue tint with orange/red mirror & it also feels like it needs to be cleaned constantly.
the Clarity is just not there

$55 is a heck of a lot to pay for Fuse lies, particularly that their color resolution is 33% better than the naked-eye
