The design itself isn’t to thin right? It was just because of the inferior brittle plastic that made it break? The arm and orbital thickness looks about the same as an eye jacket.

But also, the hinges aren't ideal for hard use.....

So maybe just a slight design update. Better hinges and a little thicker. But basically keep the same look as much as possible.

Entirely that, maybe a little internal strengthening of the frame and redesign of the hinges.

I guess the MUZM pair was a one-off. To go totally backwards would mean they know they suck.
