(I sold these ones recently because although Maui lens beats the Oakley Prizm lens for clarity....hands down.....I don't think the Blue Hawai lense could match the Prizm Sapphire Polarised for colour pop)

This is about as good as it gets for new M.J. (price-wise), as far as I have researched:

I may even be more inclined to finally get a set of Wiley-X with the Captivate lens from this site.

The Wiley-X are fairly pricey over this side of the pond.

Would love to try a pair.

Very impressed with those Baijio as well......some of the frames are lovely looking.

I also won't be happy until I try a pair of Smith Chromapop.

I liked the design of the Smith Parallel 2, so I bought a similar set with a Chromapop lens.
only thing is, it is not polarized

It is basically the successor to the old Ignitor in my current Parallel 2
At first I liked that one, but the yellow lens I used today far outrank it for low-light conditions.

Smith Tempo is what I have on the way, $66

Smith like to add extra lens in the box, which I think is a nice bonus.
Oakley charges extra for that, a lot extra.
There is currently a flash-sale on the HCL Ho'okipa:

If I did not already have a pre-owned set in the post, I would buy these right now.

You may find Smith ChromaPop similar to Costa 580p, because of this:

My first set of Costa was a Palmas with a cool tint & low-value base-curve.
I remember marveling at how it had some incredible Clarity for a Polycarbonate lens.

The Smith+ Optics I tried definitely had 'something', it almost looked like everything was vaguely outlined, but also very very neutral.
I stopped at that point with Smith, because that was supposedly their highest-contrast lens.

I looked at this cart several times last night, it is a Flash Deal:

The only thing is, I have a set coming tomorrow, so buying this set would be redundant, unless the ones in the post are trash. I did not detect scratched lenses in the photos, but it would not be the first time I got a bad surprise on arrival.

Back to the Blue-Hawaii Maui-Pure in my current Ho'okipa.
A family member today was asking me why they get such terrible eye-fatigue with their sunglasses & my response was that it is a lack of Clarity.

The Human eye is quite good at putting together a better image than it receives, but that also makes it tired.

I washed a set of LensLog lenses this morning, because there was just some sort of film on there I could not get off. It was like Magic, they improved greatly.

So, after that query, I got to thinking that the Maui Jim Maui-Pure lens is supposed to be their second or third tier down from SuperThin Glass.

When I got home I washed the Blue-Hawaii, just warm water & washing up liquid (dish soap), & Lo & Behold it just seems so much better now.

the truth teller will be driving with it
If I were to have one Neutral lens, then I guess this is the one to have.
