I have had 2 pairs for about 20 years with no issues, but know that there is an issue from other people’s experiences. I have been very fortunate. There’s a person on eBay that sells a replacement part that will fix it. There was a thread about this a while back. There is another model that uses the same part that you can steal from. I think it’s a Razor wire, but not 100% sure. Hopefully someone else will chime in to help you.
It is the razor wire but those may be tough to find. The replacement part is metal I think and may hold up better.

Since I have some Hatchet glasses, one has to be prepared for repairing the hinge sometimes. I bought some of my Hatchets with broken hinges. Razrwire parts are identical and easy to get on eBay so that's what i'm using now. Keep in mind the orientation of the hinge parts, take a picture...www.oakleyforum.com

There is a pair if razrwire on mercari for 63$.It is the razor wire but those may be tough to find. The replacement part is metal I think and may hold up better.
