Seriously?!? I think I'd die a little... That stings bad... I just keep thinking, $500=Badman, but $500=Used R1. That's probably why I have a couple R1s at this point and no Badman, haha. Maybe I'll pick up a Badman/Madman when I can get it sub $200, which I think can be found. Problem is, I keep spending all my money on the old (and true) metals

As far as your badman is concerned, like @joecool862 said, buy a duplicate then use the receipt to return the broken one for a refund if they let you.

Sound words, once again thanks for stepping in.

To change the subject, I´m attaching some WIP on an upgraded springless hinge, were the round stem that breaks is beefed up to the point of the outer diameter of the spring, making it more robust. Also, the corner that limits the stop when the legs fully open was extended to keep the legs from opening to the point where the former spring would make them return to its resting position.
