Is it worth buying Oakley watches?

Straight forward, I would like to know if it’s worth buying Oakley watches like Minute Machine (aka Time Tank), Hollow Point or Judge? If it is, are they Oakley watch sellers in the forum?
I know they look sick but the price tag is not helping. As a watch, how good is it?
Are they more precise, for example, than a Tag Heuer, which is a watch around the same price range?
I know Tag Heuers are way more common and Oakleys are unique but just curious to hear from y’all.

Neoteric Nick here, peace, out!

I’ve bought Oakley watches since they first came out with D1. I love them. My favorite that I still wear everyday is the Minute Machine. It keeps time perfectly with no issues. The reason you get an Oakley watch is because it stands out. They look completely different than everything else. I constantly get compliments on it. Even by non Oakley fans.

I'd honestly say it's not worth buying them. For quartz watches they're quite expensive. They tend to be very heavy. And getting parts for them is next to impossible. That said, I also wouldn't buy a Tag, they're too overpriced. Have you looked at Steinhart watches? Super price to quality ratio there.

Compared to retail most of the Oakley watches sell at about half what they were retail. While it is true that most are quartz movements you can still find "most" parts because people with no soul break up these watches and sell them by the part to try and get the most money out of it which they pay for in the end because they just end up with half a watch. I personally think the prices in the current market are too high but that is being driven more by the spanish and asian crowds and the popularity of them in those countries. I still will NOT pay more than $1K for a standard colorway MM or TT, $1250 for a HP, or $2500 for a red TB2. The judges and GMTs and lower grade watches I have given up on because I have actually lost money in reselling them. The Holeshot and Crankcase are probably the two sleepers that if a person wanted a Oakley watch and a cool looking one they can get it for less than $3-400.

I will say this... I NEVER lost a dime having and reselling MM TT HP DT or TB1&2's but I was patient and bought them all at the right price when they came up

I have never made a dime on HS CC Judge or GMT and have in fact lost a little from time to time

I’ve bought them at the right time/price, but sold a few before they started skyrocketing in price.

I bought my Minute Machine right as Oakley was getting rid of their watches. A watch store on Ebay had a brand new one with box they posted on 4th of July evening while everyone was out partying. Got it for $700 and no tax back then.

I missed out on some double taps they had at an Oakley friends and family event at store one in Irvine. But who knew back then.

I do like the Holeshot (at one time I really liked them, which is why I have five of them), but for less money you can get an automatic that's better made and better quality (admittedly not such an eye-catching design).

They aren’t worth what you pay, but the style and materials used besides the movement make them incredible.
