LINEGEAR Japan Corner, Q&A, latest update

Definitely not encouraging if you like those frames. I still have yet to purchase either a Badman or Madman and likely won't unless I get them for under $100. They just don't interest me or have any value to me. Some people love them and that's great, I'm just not a fan. Interesting to see those poll results though!
they've been selling those for about $120 lately from some resellers. Doubt it'd ever hit sub $100 mark

lol, they said that about sub $200! Haha! I'm cool to play the waiting game ;)

lol sub $200 = about half price. 50% off is easy with Oakley stuff if you time it right
sub $100 you're looking at 75% off so that's already hitting retail cost price mark from what i know

I guess, the Oakley approach to Badmand & Madman was, with a real knowledge of die-hard support from fans around the world, i.e. intensive trade on eBay, dynamic communities on OF, O-Review, FB groups,...etc the tactics was to make the maximum profit when released, sell cheap to reseller/distributor and ask everyone to sell at MSRP (Maker Suggested Retail Price) i.e. at 400$. Now the "real" price is appearing, 150$ to 180$ depends on variation.

If the Badman would fit my face better, I would have had a couple of them, but they're so loose and cheap feeling...

They're pretty much half a step above Holbrooks...

the transparent part of the frame does feel cheap.

I posted the survey result on Mr. Jim Jannard's thread (Jannard Collection... ) yesterday, and I hope he could do something about it.

Everyone needs a true x-metal come back!

Somehow I got a feeling that the Oakley we know today is at the stage well and truly beyond his control or influence...

The badman/madman had a great design but poor execution imo. The choice of materials and hinges were major let down to something far from what it could have been. Heck if I've $20k to spare I'd make improved versions of them

JJ's way past the point where he has any involvement in what Oakley does; that's all in his rearview mirror. So no he can't do anything about it. He's said as much in the past. IIRC the Pit Boss was the last frame that he had any influence on, and that came out seven years ago.
