Oakley EV ZERO

Had the opportunity to try them on yesterday at my local vault. Overall not impressed. They accurately captured the soul of the previous zeros, but they felt incredibly weak and flimsy. There was little to no "clamp" on my head, and I would reckon that they are prone to falling off during any physical activity.
The newer Zeroes were like that.

If you harken back the Subs you had a fragile pair that didn't fit for beans. Coverage wasn't all that great, they were built for a purpose, and it wasn't extreme performance.

I've heard that a way to test them is by vigorously shaking your head.

Is it a repost in this thread? Maybe, didn't care to look... Goddamn, these are cool:

Just got mine, too. Path. A lot of evidence of handling during assembly, though. Lenses got smudges and are dusty, box kinda bent.

I've definitely considered returning it without opening it for so many of the reasons already mentioned, but after waiting and being curious, and trying it on...gut tells me it's a keeper. Won't be a major option, but will see use. Plan to do a review/comparison to last year's R2 stuff.

Some quick impressions:
-Very light hold, but secure.
-Knew about the locking hinges, but in person it's very reassuring.
-Lens spacing, at least with the AF pad, is better than I've experienced with other rimless pairs (RP Hypermask, Smith V90)
-Confident that the lenses can come off. They were clearly popped in, there's no adhesive, and that could be the explanation for the smudges I saw. Probably also means it's real tight. Judging by the pic below, some form of pivoting is likely the best way to get it done.

.I just don't want to wreck my pair minutes after getting it. Doesn't help that the arms are otherwise easy to flex.

Would also mention the url of this pic included the term "replacement".

So those 3 impressions are arguably removing my previous doubts altogether. At least for wearing, I'm convinced Oakley gave it proper attention during the design process.

*edit: also forgot to mention that I ordered an AF version.Judging by pics and listed dimensions, it's really just the pad. I would've anticipated a pair that was ridiculously loose had there been an alteration to the arms.

why is there talk of lens swaps Oakley probably will not sell lenses for these separately IMO. Unless someone owns more than one pair.
