OFFICIAL 2017 COLLEGE FOOTBALL THREAD

The committee set the precedent last year with ohio, so if you got offended with Bama being included, karma bit that team in the backside.

The mandate of the committee is “ the 4 best teams “. Mission accomplished.

I think you mean the 3 best teams and then a gimme by the committee for the 4th spot. At least now we have some kind of playoff to decide the best team instead of relying on "unbiased" committee members.

The NFL absolutely sucks. Who wants to see a borderline worthy team get into a “ playoff “.

There aren’t 16 teams that could nonestly compete for a legitimate championship. Quantity doesn’t correlate into quality.

Most teams are beat to hell right now, how many games do y’all figure an 18 to 22 year old body can endure ?

If they’d go to a 16 team format, regular season and Conference Championship games would need to be negotiated away. WAY too much $$$ in the balance.

College football is a superior game and doesn’t need to to reduced to that junk.

2005 Steelers and 2010 packers were both 6 seeds that won the super bowl. Are you saying they shouldn't of even had a chance to play for it?

I don't bother with the NFL.

In college ball, there aren't more than maybe 10-11 teams annually, with a legitimate shot at winning the National Championship.

If you're cool with an 8-8 team in a " playoff " I guess the pro game appeals to you.

I guarantee you there is more conversation, passion being elicited about the result of the playoff selection today, than anything that goes on in the NFL playoffs at any time.

The college process isn't 100% perfect, but I'll take it with its warts, than what gets rolled out on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays ( Saturdays too, as soon as college ball is finished).

I wish the Giants would not have had a chance in 07-08 and 11-12, then the Patriots would have two more SuperBowls . In both years the Giants played out of the wild card to win the SuperBowl. I'm loving the season the Giants are having this year though, lol

An 8 team playoff would be better than 4 thoigh. I agree that teams outside the top 10 wouldn't be competitive with the top 4 or 5 teams but the top 8 would and it would end much of these "who's in" debates

I've been a proponent of an 8 team playoff since the beginning of this modern playoff era. The conference champions of the five power conferences get an auto bid and that leaves three wildcard spots for the most worthy of the non-power conferences and/or power conference non-champions. It just adds one more round to the playoffs, which could be fit in the existing bowl schedule without lengthening the season.

And how do you castrate a bama fan? Kick his sister in the jaw!
