Ray Bans Fake ? They do say " Frame China " Need ID ! THANKS !

I have these pair of Ray Bans .
They do say " Frame China " on the down part of the frame. But I understand some are made there ??
They also say " PENNY " - 3 .
And then the size ( I think that's what these numbers are for ? ) 53-18-140 .
Then on the other frame arm " The Regal Collection " , " VE " .
I can't find info anywhere !
Any ideas ??

You came to an Oakley site just to discuss glasses other than Oakley's? I'm guessing there's no Ray Ban Forum. My thoughts? I'm starting to think we need to stay away from anything 'China'.

I couldn't find a Ray Ban forum like this !
I did some snooping and they say that some Ray Bans are made in China !
I also found " BL " on the lenses . As in Bausch and Lomb !

Well then they (B&L) should be the starting point for you. You seem to have model numbers and other info on the stems. You can also try Ebay and amazon. Sorry that I can't be of much help to you, but you can leave this thread open and see if anyone else chimes in.

Its a fake.

• Ray ban sunglasses very rarely have model names on the temple. It's usually only the SKU.
• The VE logo shouldn't have been there.
• The writing saying The Regal Collection- it screams fake.
• BL etching should be only on the left lens. Not on both lenses.

You say it’s a fake with such confidence. I disagree.

While not many raybans have a “name” inside the temple, many do. So I wouldn’t say it’s “very rarely” that they do.

The “VE” logo seems to be in relation to “the regal collection”.

“BL” on both lenses is not uncommon for vintage raybans.


The “rayban” on the lens looks perfect and the info on the temples appear to match the fonts of other vintage raybans.

I personally would say they’re authentic.
