A Monster Dog (formerly) Whiskey (my apologies O-Brother @scrodo) and now Monster Dog Cleared with Flat Steel Icons and Revant Titanium Polarized lenses.
First of all…this OD is the absolutely worst gaffer’s tape I’ve ever tried. Need to check the brand to never buy it again. BAD . Moving on.
Due to that this T-Rex fought me tooth, nail, and claw. Thank goodness Stingray is virtually indestructible. Will need to take a toothpick with some OD paint and touch up the trimmed edges tomorrow. Stingray has these white nodules in the cross section that shine bright white if you trim after the fact.
I am a big enough man to admit when I’ve made a mistake. In fairness to the Olive Drab Gaffer’s tape I “might” have adhered the adhesive side to the flat paper rather than the shiny slick side of my base tape backing.
Was bugging me how hard it was to separate so did a test this AM. It’s fine
After over a week of Olive Drab MARS Stingray shoreside shenanigans, it’s back to being a humble OD Mars Standard. What next for our intrepid adventurer!?!
Side note the Stingray came off cleanly but will need some additional glue to re-adhere a few corners of the hide to the gaffers tape.
This is some cool stuff man. Keep posting this hobby. Have you worked with leather before? I have a few jackets that need to be conditioned. Any recommendations?
I just picked leatherwork up last year or year before...if memory serves. Self taught stuff....good ole Google and Youtube.
That having been said I have a lot of leather and buckskin coats and especially vests. The talented lady who does all my buckskin vests highly recommends Skidmore's Leather Cream for conditioning and light waterproofing and Skidmore's Waterproofing for leather that's really gonna get wet. I usually opt for the leather cream. Superb stuff. They have it on Amazon.
