So, just surface rust then.

OK, sorry for the misunderstanding. So painting then or some other method of application?

Cold blu will darken the metal and act as a rust inhibitor. I'll know more this weekend when I apply it. More pictures to come.

Can't you use some wirewool, gently rubbing on the rust stains?

Update. I started polishing the plexi on these. Rather than an orbital I went with a half inch chuck Milwaukee holeshooter. Plenty of torque and you can really apply pressure, more than with an orbital. It allowed me to concentrate on small scratches. I picked up a bunch of polishing wheels. They were about $3 each and they clean up nicely. Take a look at the results. I put the Oakley logo underneath the scratched area so you can see how much of the scratches came out. The part in the lower edge of the photo came out too. Stay tuned for the reveal.

Here’s are a few pictures of the plexi all polished up. These pics are with the door closed. You can see how clear it is. Even the shelving came out spectacular.
