Watches Other Than Oakley

It is nice. I do think it's leading much more form over function, but I understand that it's never actually going anywhere deep and primarily meant to look cool in a casual setting.

Like you said, pricing is what kills it.

An existing Timex buyer is not likely to be saving up $1,000+ USD to buy another Timex.
Not saying that to trash the brand or watch, but it's a hard sell.

Added two more Marvel Citizen Eco-Drives to the mix. Two Tony Stark/Iron Man watches.

Seiko SPB511

Half of what went into this, is despite seemingly having a "rotation", and wearing my watches with the intent they can take wear and tear...I don't actually have a watch I'm particularly ok with potentially losing. This is something I can replace sooner than later if needed. I did have a "cheap" watch earlier this year, but it was lacking in terms of actually being enjoyable to wear.

Other half of this pickup is I've never gotten into Seiko yet. Figured I realistically have to enter a low/mid tier to understand the brand better, as opposed to jump to something like GS right off the bat — like, get familiar to what a Seiko really is to the average person or enthusiast. I've heard/read qualms with Seiko QC and movement performance for the money, but evidently there's still a pretty broad following.

Picking from the 62MAS-inspiried line made the most sense to me. Seemingly some decent attention to detail by the brand with their recent updates, and a more fitting example to compare against my Black Bay, albeit redundant. The case shape works a lot better on my wrist vs my other watches. The clasp is a bit ugly, but the on-the-fly adjustment without opening the clasp is awesome imo.

Getting this somewhat limited version is to also make out what sense of indulgence is in this space...although this might backfire and I'll end up liking the watch too much.

Longines Spirit Zulu Time 39mm

Like I'm guessing with most people, I don't really need a GMT, but this has been my favorite execution of a GMT. This was a more quintessential bucket list pickup to me, wear here and there. The early experience has made a bigger impression on me. Unlike what I imagined, it's not too far off of what wearing a simpler field watch was like for me.
