What Are You Driving ?

Probably the latter statement. I've had many Camaros, two Corvettes, and I'm on my third Porsche (well fourth if you count the wife's Cayenne). Never had a Mustang, but really like the look of the 2015, and they've finally stepped up the game (hp). As I understand, there will also be a new Cuda coming out. Concept photos look interesting. I can't wait to see it. I'm in no rush. I'm pushing 40 in a couple of months so don't really need to drive fast, but love the sound of the V8's .

Also considering an older Ferrari (360 or 430), newer Corvette, or possibly a used Viper. If I go with one of the Pony cars I won't be giving up my Porsche. Just getting opinions on different cars, and wondering what folks think.
Hamann F430....

ok, so it sounds like you just want the option of driving a V8 Muscle/Pony Car...

going fast is relative...

I would recommend this: go to each dealership and ask them to test drive their cars - 5.0, SRT8 and the SS (not sure if the 2016 SS's have hit the dealers lots yet)

make an educated choice on which one YOU would prefer cruising around in.....

as far as price per straight line performance, the winner will most likely be the 2016 SS - followed by the SRT8, then the Mustang

as far as responsiveness to mods, the ruler in that realm will always be GM - although the 5.0's Coyote engine is a high revving banshee that can be tuned to almost perfection, I could go into any gas station in the nation and get a heads/cam package for an LS3 SS...and then I could literally get into the car, turn it on and mildly suggest I want a tune and the car would tune itself...

comfort goes to the SRT8 - I can drive my car from Houston to California, to New York and back to Houston and it will be a perfect drive mainly due to the size, leg room, seats, 8.4" touchscreen, vented seats, etc)

I chose the SRT8 because I'm an SRT whore...I will always have an SRT8 in my garage as long as they keep making them.....

I had a feeling that the car was not going to be as fast as the 2016 SS, but I bought it anyways for other reasons...

but I can guarantee you this - if you go test drive the 2015 SRT8, you will fall passionately in love with it's 8 speed transmission...

having 475ftlbs of torque on tap through 8 gears is marvelous, you'll be extremely comfortable, you'll be able to cruise with your family (children, pre-teens, late teens and adults) and the drop dead gorgeous sound of the "straight through" mufflers and resonators will be the soundtrack to you loving your life...

but again, if you just want a light pony car with what will essentially be the most affordable car with the best power-to-weight ratio, wait for the 2016 SS.....

Ok so what are peoples thoughts about 2015 Mustang GT vs 2015 Camaro SS. Ford really upped their game this year adding more hp than the Camaro and an independent rear suspension.

Personally, I really like the styling of the new Mustang, but both are nice. What are your opinions?

I am a Ford Guy
Drove the 2015 Eco Boost turbo 4 cyl at a local dealer
Was looking for a new work car. I own a 2008 Mustang GT/CS
Was immediately turned off by the rise of the hood
Hard to explain but the hood was sort of humped when you look out in the drivers seat
Was also not impressed with the turbo

the new body style of the Mustang looks gross to me...

everything is good, then you get to the back quarter panels and the tiny stock rims....

the car looks like it should have come with stock 9.5 - 10" rims...

interior is fantastic though...the tight gears are great too.....

overall, it's just not as fast or as comfortable as it's SS and SRT8 competitor.....

plus, everyone knows that if you drive a Mustang, it comes with a free AFFLICTION shirt and a Monster hat that has to be worn backwards.....

lol......

And if you buy a new Camaro
get ready for a new hair style

but seriously, I honestly think the 2016 SS will be a high 11 second car with just a tire.....

460hp and the car will weigh LESS than the 2015 model (new Alpha Platform)...

power to weight will be through the roof with the 2016 SS......

exciting times we live in...

freaking 4-door Hellcats going 10's with just a tire.....

let my little brother drive my car on a 350 mile round trip to get some BBQ in central Texas this Saturday.......

I drove my wife's 392 Challenger for the day......

I even let my brother and cousin borrow some Oakleys for the day HAHAHA !!!!!!
