What Are You Driving ?

What is people's thoughts on American vs. Foreign? Example: lets say Corvette or Viper vs. Ferrari 360 or Porsche 997 Turbo. I've had a couple of Corvette's and they are a rough ride. Never driven a Viper, but I can only imagine it would be hard to control, given all the hp. Have driven a Ferrari 360 and several Porsche's, but not a Turbo. Porsche feels more solid than any of them, and not a s costly to maintain as a Ferrari. I think you can get more real world use out of it.I have driven a C6 Corvette once, but have not had the opportunity to drive the new Stingray. I guess I've been itching to try it, but I'm afraid I'll like it.

personally i like anything that is nice, but we are talking 100k dollar American cars vs. 150-250k European cars. that for me is a deciding factor right there. i like my cars to look mean and the American cars for the most part look more menacing than the finesse look of the European ones. i also am more of a blue collar guy and i couldn't see myself ever driving an Exotic, but i could see myself driving a Corvette/Viper level of supercar.

Being an SRT fan i would go with the Viper by a mile, and i will get one eventually. the only problem is the Hellcat Charger has peaked my interest too.

Ok so what are peoples thoughts about 2015 Mustang GT vs 2015 Camaro SS. Ford really upped their game this year adding more hp than the Camaro and an independent rear suspension.

Personally, I really like the styling of the new Mustang, but both are nice. What are your opinions?

i have never been a fan of the newer Camaro styling or the lack of vision you get while looking out of it. the 02 was a MUCH better looking car. the motors are good, but there is no advantage for the normal level Camaros there anymore.

that being said the new Mustang 5.0 cyote motor is no joke and becomes a monster on track with some mods. they finally have an IRS and the newest body style is the best they have had since the Notchback LX.

so out of the current cars on the normal V8 trim levels the Mustang is winning by a landslide. my exception would be looking at the higher trim levels. the Camaro Z28 has track prepped suspension, naturally aspirated motor, and is set up to fit 305 rubber on the front from the factory. it is set up out of the box to be a road racing car which is exactly what i mod my cars for. out of all the mustangs and camaros out there the new track ready Z28 is the only one i would buy.

Does the green one have a lot of negative camber, or just an optical illusion?
it's just the way the picture was taken......

everything at the edges are usually distorted.....

here's the same car shot with a much better camera.......

you can keep that one - i'll take the GT350R :)

it's nice, but that flat crank 5.2L motor will not be anywhere near as cost effective to service or mod for a normal joe. the Z28 has a much easier cost of long term ownership for similar performance.

it's also easy to note you could get a Hellcat for 4 grand less than that GT350R, which is where my money would go.

I thought you didnt like the new Mustangs???????
I love them, I just think the stock rims look ridiculous......it looks like the Mustang skipped leg day...

the GT350R however, comes with 10" up front and 10.5" out back (315's)......

Hellcats can't turn lol...

.........and since you autox your car, I figured you'd buy a GT350R over a Hellcat...

if I had to pick either, I'd go with a Hellcat every day of the week.....

"Hellcats can't turn" is a myth and most of the people spreading that myth don't use their car for any more cornering ability than a Ford Explorer on Firestones needs. figure 8 numbers even show they can just fine if your a magazine numbers guy, which i am not (LT1 and Hellcat both average .84g and 24 seconds in the figure 8). GM and Ford lovers just have it stuck in their heads that because it is 100 lbs more or so when comparing 4000 lb cars it can't turn. that's like the second fattest girl in school calling the fattest girl in school fat when she weighs 2 more lbs. people that aren't able to go into a corner with a Hellcat while managing 200 more horsepower is a bigger factor thatn 100lbs of weight.

either way if you can make anything turn for a relatively cheap amount of money. so buy the car you want and add coilovers/better swaybars/tires and any of the modern muscle cars will corner just about equally well. then your not stuck with a car you don't want. i have yet to be beaten on an autocross by this generation Camaro and there is only 1 previous generation camaro that beats me on a regular basis and it is a full out not street legal race car that gets trailered in.
