What Are You Driving ?

I've been doing a bit of reading, and it looks like they're capable of an easy 350 BHP without touching too much. More if you address wheel hop and grip, and work on engine components to handle the higher horsepower figures.

We'll see how she handles this winter as to what my long-term plans for it are. If it doesn't handle well in light snow I don't see me keeping it very long. I will be spending about $500 on winter tires in 2 months or so, to give it a fighting chance.

The only mods I've done are a short antenna and mud flaps. I've moved the remote sensor from the mirror to the headliner and I'll be removing the stock mirror pretty soon for a cheap aftermarket that's tucked up higher for better visibility.

I might do a ghetto CAI soon. Keep the stock pipe, take off the top of the airbox and fix a small 45 and a large filter to the sensor elbow. Secure it and be done. No fancy hoses or expensive heat shields. And open the hood scoop so it will actually let some air flow through.

The truth is that i do not know how it will handle in such weather conditions since we rarely have them in Greece.
But as i have seen from my car (also turbo boosted) the chapter exhaust gives them the extra flow needed and the gain
in bhp and sound is superb.I wanted to throw a limited differential slip to mine but it costs around 1700 usd so it is out of my
plans.Since i cannot afford a BMW M3 E 92 i stay happily with what i' ve got:smile:

You reminded me; I needed to go clean the windows. Lots of bugs and waterspots. I clean the car maybe monthly, but I usually hit the glass twice a week.

The front mud flaps are subtle, but they're supposed to be a big help keeping spray and grime off the doors. The rears are more for looks.

Is that a Focus RS? God! Euro-spec Fords are way better than what's offered here in the States. We want them too!

Like I said earlier in the thread- If we had a tuned 2-door Focus I might have gone that route instead of the Mini. We have a terrible selection of small cars, and an even worse selection of 2-doors.

Very nice Focus, STavros

I just find it ironic that Europe gets the better deal out of an American car company. There's for sure a market for them here, but I'm not Ford Marketing. Oh well.

I am big guy, little car driver myself. Granted, the GTI isn't as mini as a Mini, I love both. I was in the market for a MCS when I was buying, but the GTI won out because I got a sweet deal - paid $2200 under invoice for a loaded 4-door minus NAVI. They were selling them above MSRP a month later!

If I had a Mini it'd be all aesthetic, at first - 2" drop and BBS RC/Rotiform wheels go a long way towards SEXY!

Unfortunately it is the ST model. The RS model came in production one year after i had allready bought it.
Although i have make the same tuning as the RS and the horsepower are almost the same RS has the
limited differential sllip from the factory which mine does not and believe me the behaviour in cornering
between the 2 cars have difference.
Imagine that in UK are much cheaper than Greece. RS model was at 25000pounds while in Greece started
at 38000 euros.
