What Really Grinds Your Gears?

Yes, that's how my sales are set up, it's not a sale until you pay. But if you send an offer to an interested buyer, and he/she accepts, they get 48 hours to pay. That's what happened in this case
wow, sounds complicated + there is new eBay fees right?

how do they work, they affect both sellers and buyers?

Actually there are no new fees. Now, instead of paying 10% to eBay, and 3% to PayPal, eBay takes the 13% off the sale price, and they send the remaining to the sellers bank account directly. Basically they took PayPal out of the equation, and now they make more money. In the end it works out the same for the seller
How do you then pay for purchases on eBay now?

I pay my purchases with PayPal. As I understand it, ebay handles the money from the seller side, not the buyer, and it's the seller who pays the 3% merchant fees. So eBay is making more money in the transaction, PayPal is making less money, and the seller is paying the same in fees when it's all set and done
Thanks for the info
Rather confusing, don't you think?

Then add currency conversion fees .........

but to sum it up, if you sell an item on ebay, you lose 13% of the amount........ that is way too much imo !
And PayPal does the same, sell an item here on OF and PayPal ****s you, the seller.......

True, but they're not twisting our arms to sell in their platform. I rather sell locally, through Offer Up, Craigslist, or one of those platforms, but my listings will not get the views that they get on eBay. It's the cost of doing business, and one chooses to list or not.

Have you ever sold on Amazon? Their fees are unreal, plus they charge you $40 and up to per month, to allow you to sell in their platform.
Amazon, but that is because they host small businesses there right, not private sellers?
